The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE) is an organization of electrical engineering practitioners and the only accredited professional organization (APO) of electrical practitioners by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) with PRC Cert. No. I-APO-016, founded in 1975. IIEE held a virtual Annual National Convention via Zoom, and the ASEAN and Asia Pacific Engineering Registry Committee (AAPER), PEE Mentoring Committee and College of Fellows Committee spearheading a Building Career Path for Global Recognition on November 8, 2022 (Tuesday) at 8:00am to 5:00pm Philippine Time.

The event has presented several speakers from Philippine and other countries such as Malaysia and Philippine. Home speakers such as Engr. Federico A. Romulo Country Registrar PTC promoted the mobility of qualified engineers through mutual recognition of qualification and experiences.

Ir. Yau Chau Fong – Head of AER Commissioner presented on how engineers in ASEAN can practice mobility. He mentioned, as we are under ASEAN Communities, Philippines Engineers can now easily do the Malaysian or Indonesian projects even from their home countries. They can export the engineering works to neighbouring countries and do site visits at project site. As Chau Fong said, we may find so many ASEAN Engineers also work in middle east and have been recognized as ASEAN Engineering Register (AER).

While Ir. Habibie Razak Executive Director of The Institution of Engineers, Indonesia (PII) and also The Country Director of SMEC International (Indonesia Operation) – Surbana Jurong Group presented his experience in “Building Engineer’s Career Path for Global Recognition; Indonesia/PII Perspective”. Several outlines to discuss, Engineering Profession Transformation after the issuance of Law No. 11/2014, Professional Engineer (PE) Practice in Indonesia, Engineer’s Career Path; Global Recognition, Global Challenges of Professional Engineer (PE); Energy Transition and Global Challenges of Professional Engineer (PE); Digitalization & Automation in AEC Sector.

At the end of Habibie’s presentation, he concluded “Engineers’ Career Path started from Junior Engineer’s Level all the way up to more mature experienced engineers and decide in which path they will choose, Project Management, Specialist or Sales & Business Development.
