Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia kembali mempertahankan status keanggotaannya hingga Juni tahun depan sebagai bagian dari APEC Engineers Agreement, tim reviewer dari International Engineering Alliance (IEA) akan berkoordinasi dengan tim APEC Engineers Register Indonesia Monitoring Committee (APEC ER IMC) terkait annual report yang mesti disubmit. Keputusan ini diambil di IEAM yang diselenggarakan di New Delhi India dari tanggal 9 hingga 15 Juni 2024.

Tim APEC ER IMC berangkat dari Indonesia tanggal 10 Juni untuk menghadiri International Engineering Alliance Meetings (IEAM) yang berlangsung selama seminggu. Sedikit tentang IEA, The International Engineering Alliance (IEA) is a global not-for-profit organisation, which comprises members from 41 jurisdictions within 29 countries, across seven international agreements. These international agreements govern the recognition of engineering educational qualifications and professional competence.

Through the Educational Accords and Competence Agreements members of the International Engineering Alliance establish and enforce internationally bench-marked standards for engineering education and expected competence for engineering practice.

PII is part of IEA membership, the member of APEC Engineers Agreement and PII under IABEE is also full signatory member of Washington Accord, Educational Accord Agreement.

Tim APEC ER IMC yang berangkat di IEAM 2024 antara lain: Ir. Andi Taufan Marimba, IPU., Ir. Habibie Razak, IPU dan Ir. Prastiwo Anggoro, IPU. Sementara tim IABEE yang berangkat dipimpin langsung oleh Head of Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Romli.

IEAM akan diselenggarakan di Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, 8 – 13 Juni 2024.
